Stray thought about compassion

This afternoon I walked down the street and around the corner to the Girdwood Styling Salon.  I’ve been feeling discouraged lately about my appearance.  My hair’s gotten long and scraggly.  I’m clueless about fashion, and find it kind of boring.  Don’t get me started on how I feel about the extra pounds.

But as I walked to the hair salon, this is what I heard:  “Unless you have compassion for where you are right now, you will not be able to see where you want to go, let alone begin to go there.”

  1. Just had that conversation with my spouse this week. So true.
