Praise the Silent Wheel

The squeaky wheel gets the grease, they say.  And problems attract our attention, much more than things that are functioning properly.

From the windows at the end of the hall in our building we have a great view of “downtown” Girdwood.  Today as Brady and I headed out for our morning walk, I happened to notice someone walking a dog on-leash.  In Girdwood, this is not the norm, and all the free-range dogs make it difficult for those of us who do walk our dogs on-leash.  It’s easier to be cranky about the law-breakers, and more difficult to notice and celebrate good neighbors.

So here’s to you, unknown dog-walker. Thank you for making your neighbors’ lives just a bit easier.
